Bohemian Rhapsody
To celebrate the highly anticipated theatrical release of Bohemian Rhapsody, FlipTurn collaborated with 21st Century Fox to cast Freddie Mercury lookalike teams for appearances at major music festivals nationwide. These “Freddies” engaged fans at SF Outside Lands, ACL Music Festival, Chicago’s Riot Fest, and Kaaboo Del Mar.
Dressed in outfits inspired by Freddie Mercury's iconic 1985 Live Aid performance, the lookalikes wore white acid-washed Wrangler jeans, tucked-in white racerback tanks, Adidas shell-toe shoes, black studded accessories, and sported fake (and some real) mustaches. They struck classic Mercury poses, held #BohemianRhapsody signs, and posed with fans for Instagram Boomerangs and photos.
The “Freddies” danced their way into the hearts of Queen fans, generating excitement and awareness for the Bohemian Rhapsody theatrical release. Safe to say, FlipTurn’s street team campaign was a champion success.
